Schalast wins Prof. Dr. Jens Ekkenga as new partner in the Corporate / M&A practice group

On April 1, 2024, Prof. Dr. Jens Ekkenga will join the Schalast Corporate / M&A practice group as a partner. The renowned legal scholar most recently taught and researched at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU). His focus was on corporate finance, including accounting and tax law, banking and capital market law, and corporate governance. He will now also contribute this extensive expertise to Schalast. In January this year, Dr. Joachim Habetha, who moved from Hogan Lovells, also joined the firm's Corporate / M&A practice group.

About the person

Ekkenga studied law at the University of Frankfurt am Main. He obtained his doctorate and habilitation there. He is known among experts both as a lively participant in controversial discussions in journal articles and as the author of a series of standard works on stock corporation and limited liability company law as well as capital market law. His numerous projects most recently included the management of the research project "Sustainable Finance in Europe" together with colleagues from 14 EU member states. Before joining Schalast, he worked for the law firm Covington & Burling LLP in Frankfurt am Main.
