Dr. Thomas Reimann, auditor, tax consultant, and attorney, is a partner at Schalast and Schalast Auerbach and advises companies on matters related to banking supervisory law and accounting according to the HGB (German Commercial Code) and IFRS. In addition, he handles statutory auditing tasks.

Biography

Dr. Thomas Reimann has been advising and auditing companies in the financial sector for over 12 years, including credit and financial services institutions as well as payment and securities institutions. His consulting in the banking supervisory law area focuses on the areas of regulating compensation systems, risk management according to the MaRisk (incl. BAIT and ZAIT) and comprehensive consulting for securities and payment institutions. In addition, Dr. Reimann has experience in founding and structuring companies regulated under financial market supervisory law, as well as handling auditing duties in companies. Furthermore, he has many years of expertise in auditing compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting requirements in the course of annual and interim financial statements at credit and financial services institutions governed by the EZB and BaFin.

After completing his degree in law and business administration, Dr. Reimann audited and advised on economics matters at a variety of international auditing firms (big four) as well as at a mid-sized corporate consulting firm. He is an instructor for banking supervisory law at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society and an author for the commentary “Schwennicke/Auerbach, KWG.”
